The debut CD album of Vittorio Prato is dedicated to the art of the great baritone of the past – Antonio Tamburini. This exquisite selection of rare belcanto arias from the operas of the beginning of the XIX century is presented in an elegant edition with booklet notes written by Giancarlo Landini.
Rare belcanto arias for baritone of Mercadante, Coccia, Generali, Donizetti, Balducci, Marliani, Bellini and Balfe constitute a precious collection that will delight the true connoisseurs of opera.
Orchestra “Virtuosi Brunensis” and “Camerata Bach Choir” are conducted by the belcanto specialist José Miguel Pérez-Sierra. The album is recorded in collaboration with SWR radio and captures the vibrant emotions of a live concert.
"It was with great pleasure that I met the Missoni family at "Japan Orfeo", a combination of music by the great Monteverdi and art and traditions from Japan. This production marked my debut in Asia in a leading role, wearing the marvellous Missoni costumes which contributed to the enormous success of this immensely significant event" - stated Vittorio Prato recently.
Missoni's creativity, an indisputable milestone in the realm of luxury knitwear, never ceases to enchant Vittorio. His luggage always contains some of those iconic Missoni Uomo garments which are a perfect representation of naturally sophisticated Italian style, making him one of the brand's highly esteemed ambassadors.
It is their native Puglia which links Vittorio Prato and Sartoria Latorre. Vittorio Prato is proud to be from Lecce, while Michele Latorre and his sons, Vito, Alberto, Luciano and Alessio come from Locorotondo, one of the most enchanting villages in the Valle d'Itria.
Sartoria Latorre was created in 1965 as a small business designing bespoke tailored garments and is still present in Locorotondo where it currently employs around 150 workers, who specialise in creating unique, premium-quality garments. The company has achieved a perfect balance between the manual skills of traditional tailoring and the new, fresh, lively entrepreneurial spirit brought to the company by the second generation. Their perfectly tailored garments are sold in Italy and beyond, in Spain, Belgium, Holland, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Northern Europe, Russia, the Middle East, Japan and China.
Vittorio has chosen to wear Sartoria Latorre, captured by the beautiful fabrics and the great attention to detail. This is a perfect example of Italian-designed clothes appearing with Vittorio on a special occasion: the Rossini 150 concert at the Italian Cultural Institute in Beijing on November 2nd 2018.
Working on my next recording for ILLIRIA with Mº Vincenzo Scalera. Stay tuned!
"Vittorio Prato’s Corrado was fluently sung and technically secure".
